Ms. Williams began her legal career in litigation, with an emphasis business litigation and employment law. After over a decade of litigation practice, Ms. Williams determined that her legal skills were best used helping people and businesses plan for the future. Ms. Williams works with her clients to create comprehensive estate planning documents that meet both her client’s immediate and future needs.
Ms. Williams’ practice focuses on personalized estate planning for individuals, couples, and families. She has a broad range of experience including wills, revocable living trusts, family business entity planning, and irrevocable trusts including personal residence trusts and special needs trusts. Ms. Williams is focused on protecting family assets through design of sophisticated plans.
Ms. Williams also provides general counsel services to small- and mid-sized businesses. Through her time in litigation, Ms. Williams has come to believe that much litigation can be avoided through advice and implementation on best practices. With her breadth of litigation experience, Ms. Williams can help small and mid-sized companies develop strategies to avoid and/or minimize the impact of litigation. Ms. Williams regularly reviews employment policies and procedures to help implement best practices to avoid potential liability for violations of wage and hour laws. Ms. Williams also routinely reviews general business contracts, copyright applications, and prepares agreements disposing of disputes in early stages.
Ms. Williams received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. While in law school, Ms. Williams was a managing editor for the Entertainment Law Review and Journal of International and Foreign Affairs. Ms. Williams obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (with honors) and Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Ms. Williams was admitted to the California Bar in November of 2006, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for Colorado, and the U.S Court of Appeals for the First, Second, Sixth, and Ninth Circuits. Ms. Williams is currently enrolled in the LLM in Taxation program at the University of San Diego to maximize her taxation knowledge and best serve her estate planning clients.
